February 2017

You are browsing the site archives for February 2017.

In December 2016, Future First launched our all new online alumni portal. This introduced the digital toolkit- a comprehensive guide to using alumni- as well as a revamped alumni sign-up process and centralised email address for all your alumni communications.

But the developments don’t stop there. We are working hard to develop and improve the alumni portal and will be launching the following new features in spring 2017. We will keep you up to date with the launch of these features in our monthly emails.

Hubs – for groups of schools

This feature allows alumni networks to be managed across a group of schools, such as a multi-academy trust. It is currently being tested by three multi-academy trusts. If you would like to have access to this feature for your group of schools, email support@futurefirst.org.uk or contact your alumni officer.

Alumni login area

Alumni will be able to login to an area of the portal to keep their details up to date, RSVP to events you invite them to, manage their communication preferences and add other schools or colleges they attended.

Improvements to the mailbox

You will be able to send test versions of your mailings to email addresses of your choice. You will also be able to archive messages and arrange them in folders.

Invitations and RSVPs to alumni activities

You will be able to send invitations to alumni, which include an ‘I’m attending’ button, so RSVPs to your events are automatic.

Online booking for alumni and employer events

You will be able to book Future First alumni events and employer programmes online.

Speed and performance

As well as the new features outlined above, we are working to improve the speed and performance of the platform, including minimising the length of time the system is unavailable for each night.

Do you have ideas?

Are there features you would like to see on the alumni portal? We’d love to hear your ideas. Email support@futurefirst.org.uk or contact your alumni officer.

We are also looking for users who would like to get early access to new features in return for providing feedback on these features. Get in touch if you would like to be part of this group.

Apply for our 3 year partnership with international investment bank Rothschild and receive £6500 worth of events for your students!

We are seeking applications for a fantastic new project with Rothschild. The bank’s Charitable Giving Fund have awarded us the chance to support Year 9 students in four schools to develop their written and oral communication skills using alumni role models.  The scheme will be targeted specifically at students who are at risk of being ‘NEET’ in the future, and follow them across Years 9 to 11.

To find out more and to apply for a place, please download further information and an application form. Deadline for all applications is Thursday 9th March at 12pm. Email completed forms to Emma@futurefirst.org.uk.
