National Thank a Teacher Day

Thank a teacher logoAs a proud sponsor of the Pearson Teaching Awards, we are happy to share that May 20 is National Thank A Teacher Day.

Teachers up and down the country have quickly adapted to ensure young people are still able to learn during the coronavirus crisis. There are so many stories of teachers going the extra mile, from sourcing laptops to ensure the most disadvantaged can still learn at home to hand delivering school dinners. Thank a Teacher Day marks a moment when we, as a nation, can come together to say thank you to teachers across the country who are making a difference not only during these unprecedented times, but every day of the year.

The Teaching Awards Trust are asking as many people as possible to share their message of thanks, ideally in a video clip leading up to the day. This will be in an expression of their choosing – singing a song/miming to a song of thanks to their teacher, writing and/or reciting a poem, or sharing a picture of a drawing. We would encourage alumni to get involved and send a thank you to their former teachers too. For more information visit

Future First are proud to sponsor The Award for Making a Difference – Primary School of the Year and The Award for Making a Difference – Secondary School of the Year. We want to say thank you to all the schools and teachers we work with who are continuing to provide education, advice and support to young people at this time.

Our work to create and engage alumni communities who can build the confidence, motivation and life chances of young people remains completely unchanged even in these challenging times. We are committed to supporting schools and colleges in any way we can.
