At Future First we understand the importance of excellent teachers in ensuring that the future of each student is not limited by their background. Which is why, as a thank you to all the teachers we work with, Future First is proud to sponsor ‘Pearson Teaching Awards School of the Year’.
The Teaching Awards Trust is a charity whose mission is to celebrate excellence in education, through the annual ‘Pearson Teaching Awards’ and the ‘Thank a Teacher Campaign’ – this year marking its 20th year of celebrating outstanding teaching and teachers.
The Award for School of the Year – ‘Making a Difference’
The new ‘Making a Difference’ category has been introduced to recognise the power of a school in transforming and improving the lives of children; and consequently bringing cohesion and enrichment to their local community.
The award focuses on schools that have overcome disadvantages to become beacons of excellence, and through their work they create social, religious and ethnic harmony in communities where the opposite could easily be the case.
The schools who have won Silver Awards and are shortlisted for Gold Awards are:
Benjamin Adlard Primary School, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
Cambourne Village College, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Dixons Trinity Academy, Bradford, West Yorkshire
Fullhurst Community College, Leicester, Leicestershire
Jo Richardson Community School, Dagenham, Essex
Ormiston South Parade Academy, Grimbsy, Lincolnshire
Good luck to each of these amazing schools and we look forward to finding out the winners at the ceremony on Sunday 21st October!
