Future First Online Mentoring
Future First Online Mentoring combines our experience of working with state school volunteers and Brightside’s 1:1 messaging platform – with students choosing their carefully matched mentor. Using the power of relatable role models, students can be guided on their future choices, including options, careers, and life pathways, through fully safeguarded online messaging conversations.
Rigorous safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. Not only are mentors trained and DBS checked before they interact with students, students are also trained on how to use the platform safely and securely. All messages are filtered and monitored to enhanced safeguarding standards by our trained moderators.
Four reasons to choose Online Mentoring with Future First
1. You select the students who would most benefit from 1:1 guidance
Every child from every walk of life deserves to thrive. With Future First Online Mentoring, you can choose the students who would most benefit from 1:1 online guidance and support from carefully matched mentors. Up to fifty students, across all year groups, per school.
2. Students are empowered to choose from carefully matched mentors
We have a decade’s experience of working with relatable role models. Our unique system matches each student with a choice of mentors that mirror their background and/or interests, and empowers them to choose who to work with.
3. Just £55* per student gives them up to five months’ direct support
We’ve learned from careful pilots what support works well. Our programme has been generously subsidised by our partner funding and costs just £55 per student for up to five months’ one-to-one support. This includes monitoring and reporting on progress with our monthly engagement updates and final impact report.
4. Help close the achievement gap in line with your school improvement plans
Mentoring can help bridge the gap between more privileged and disadvantaged pupils. Future First’s work provides crucial support in line with Gatsby benchmarks, the Career Development Institute’s framework and individual school improvement plans.
